EliteSingles Reveals Importance of Face Masks and ‘Playlisting’ Trend

Written by Luke Smith

‘Playlisting’ is one of the newest trends that has emerged during the virtual dating boom, according to a survey from EliteSingles. This describes when a single schedules multiple video dates for the same evening but with different matches.

The survey, which included just over one thousand singles across the UK, USA, and Canada, found that 11% of singles who are dating online have been a part of someone’s ‘playlist’. 31% of daters have admitted to creating one themselves.

On the flip side, the study revealed virtual dating is a successful way for romance to blossom. 48% of participants believe they can fall in love with someone despite only meeting via video link.

Romantic milestones are also happening virtually. 42% of singles surveyed say that they’d be comfortable referring to someone they’d only met via video as their boyfriend/girlfriend/partner.

The study also looked at how singles are dating when they can meet in person. Here, one thing was clear, masks are the new must-have dating accessory. The survey found that more than half of singles would flat-out refuse to date someone who did not wear a mask.

Additionally, 63% of singles would insist on wearing a mask on all dates. That includes 41% who’d take the mask off only when seated, and 22% who’d prefer to wear their mask at all times.
