Tinder Reportedly Working on ‘Preferred Languages’ Update

Written by Dominic Whitlock

Tinder is reportedly working on a ‘Preferred Languages’ section for profiles, according to respected reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong.

The update would allow users to list all the languages that they speak in their favourite order. It should make it easier for matches to have more efficient conversations if they share mutual languages

This would be especially useful for users that are living abroad and help them feel at ease when meeting new people.

There has so far been no official word from Tinder as to whether or not the update is currently in development.

However, Wong is usually a very reliable source when it comes to app updates. She first revealed that Tinder was working on a ‘Global Mode’, the free feature that allows users to make matches with people all over the world, forcing the dating app to confirm it only a week later.

She also posted about ‘Text Prompts’ three months before they were officially added to the platform. The feature is similar to offerings from other dating apps that suggest topics and questions to help users start a conversation.

During its recent Q2 conference call, Match Group revealed a new ‘Platinum’ premium subscription will be released towards the end of year.
