OkCupid Introduces ‘Stacks’ to Help Users Organise Potential Matches

OkCupid has introduced a new design feature that gives singles a different way to sort through their suggested dating profiles.

‘Stacks’ will allow users of the Match Group-owned dating app to order all their potential matches into categories. These options include ‘Nearby’, ‘Online’, and ‘Recommended’.

Ariel Charytan, CEO of OKCupid, told CNET: “We know that daters are looking for different things at different times, and we want to empower people on OkCupid to choose their own preferences as they match on what matters to them.”

One of the other categories available to all is called ‘Question Pros’. These are the profiles of daters who’ve answered a higher number of the platform’s compatibility questions.

This ‘Stack’ shows “higher-intent daters” who are active on the app and appear to be actually looking for a relationship.

Last week, OkCupid made its ‘Preferred Pronoun’ display feature available to all users. It allows daters to add a note on the front page of their profile to show if they wanted to be referred to as ‘he’, ‘she’ or ‘they’.

The options was previously only available to members of the LGBTQ community after being first introduced two years ago.
