BharatMatrimony Introduces Video Dating With Added Female Safety Feature
BharatMatrimony has launched a new video chat feature to help users continue making connections and moving their relationships forward.
The feature has been deployed on a number of other dating platforms to offer singles a safe way to have virtual dates, instead of swapping their personal information and phone numbers with relative strangers.
The company is also taking extra care of its female users with this latest premium update. They are only able to receive calls from members that they’ve already sent messages to, whereas men can be called by anyone.
Founder and CEO of Matrimoy.com Murugavel Janakiraman told the Times of India: “As the lockdown has forced people to stay indoors, we had to find a way to let our matches connect safely and take the next step to finding their life partner.
“We believe that this will remain a most-used feature even after the lockdown and social distancing ends.”
Match.com’s CEO Hesam Hosseini shares the sentiment that video dating is going to be a trend that continues long into the future. Speaking to Cheddar in April, Hosseini explained that it will be a beneficial way to test the chemistry before committing to an offline date.
Earlier this month, BharatMatrimony announced it was launching a new ‘HomeWeddings’ platform that would help couples who had their plans disrupted by the pandemic.
The service, which is being run through Matrimony Bazaar, puts engaged couples in contact with vendors who will assist them in hosting a ceremony at their home. Each wedding can have a maximum of 50 attending guests.
