Spark Networks is one of the online dating industry’s biggest publicly-traded companies and it specialises in serious platforms that are committed to forming long-term relationships.

Along with mainstream offerings like Zoosk, and services for religious users like Christian Mingle and Jdate, the Berlin-based company also has a strong focus on older daters. Silver Singles is targeted at over 50s who are looking for romance in the latter stages of their life.

With COVID-19 vaccination programmes around the world offering protection to the older generation first, the dating sector will be watching closely to see how their habits change over the next few months.

Some studies have suggested that they are excited to start meeting in-person again, although there is a more general expectation that they will initially remain cautious about the risks.
