Global e-sport organisation Gen.G has announced it will be celebrating International Women’s Day with a number of activities throughout March, aimed at empowering and investing in female gamers.

Bumble is taking part in charity live streams and virtual events centred around Team Bumble, Gen.G’s first-ever all-women e-sport team.

Several other brands including US Bank and Urban Outfitters are also joining in the celebrations.

Gina Chung Lee, VP of Brand at Gen.G, said in a statement: “We will proudly raise our hand high this month as a global organisation to amplify the conversation for gender equity and inclusion.

“Women gamers are continuing to emerge onto the scene and take their place as competitors and creators, and we have an obligation to mentor and foster their success at all levels. It’s vitally important we celebrate our achievements.”

Bumble and Gen.G will amplify the gaming community through a variety of short-form content and live stream events, including gameplay from Team Bumble for both Fortnite and VALORANT.

The search for the next Team Bumble content creator will also be kicked off through a live show titled ‘The Next Bug Buzz’. Contestants will compete in a series of challenges with the victor being awarded a professional contract.

All programming will occur from 7th March and include guest appearances from professional players and creator voices.
