Kerry Katona Launches New Dating App With AppMi

Written by Dominic Whitlock

Pop star and television personality Kerry Katona has created her own dating app as a safe space for committed singles to find long-term relationships.

The inspiration for ‘Marnii’ came after Katona met her fiancé Ryan Mahoney on another dating service. The new app is a joint venture between the couple and the name is derived from Mahoney’s surname.

Some of the available features include ‘Super Match’, a free way for users to boost their profile every day and ‘Skip Back’, in case they make a mistake while swiping too fast.

It also requires messages to be sent within 48 hours once a connection is made. This is to prevent people from building up too many matches and ghosting them by not replying.

Katona said in a statement: “I’ve been married four times and I have finally found my partner for life on a dating app – which I never thought was possible.

“It’s important for me to let others know that there is someone out there, and what better time is there to meet potential love interests in a new and exciting year, after being isolated and locked in for the last year.”

Marnii was created with help from ‘AppMi’, a UK-based white label provider that specialises in creating apps.

In the past, the AppMi team has worked with a number of reality TV stars to create products like ‘Ferry Flirty’, ‘Dating Ink’, and ‘The List’.
